File Manager
Learn what a File Manager really is and how it differs from its desktop equivalent.
A File Manager tool is found in all web hosting Control Panels. As the name indicates, it's employed to command the files in an account and all File Managers support a number of basic features - browsing, moving, copying and deleting files. Several Control Panels may offer you more complex features too - changing file and folder permissions or creating and unpacking archives. Though files can be uploaded and downloaded through an FTP client, the File Manager is employed a lot more often, so the simpler to use it is, the easier it'll be for you to manage your presence online as a whole. The opposite is also true - a File Manager which is difficult to use could make it more annoying and challenging for you to manage the site content, especially if you lack previous experience.
