Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain extension is the only one intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken third-level domain names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can order your .NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no specific requirements on who can purchase a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
